As you know, we love train restaurants! So when I found out about 2Toots Train Whistle Grill, with locations in Bartlett and Glen Ellyn, I knew we had to check it out! We went to the Bartlett location for lunch on a Saturday, and here’s what we loved:

The meals are delivered by train! They actually have multiple trains running at once when they’re busy, and they run continuously, which kept even my super-energetic kiddo at bay for our whole meal. Order dessert and you’ll even get a train whistle on top (which is super fun for mom and dad on the ride home…ha…)!

Love seeing those baskets coming around!

All the seating is on the tracks. This is big. No need to line up 20 minutes before they open to secure your spot; the restaurant is uniquely designed so that every booth and counter seat is right on the tracks with train-service.

All of the booths and counter seats in the restaurant offer a seat on the tracks.

The girl will take any opportunity to pose. :o)

The food is delicious! The kids ate all of their dino-shaped chicken nuggets (which never happens), my egg salad sandwich was perfect, and Brandon’s burger looked super yummy. (He did say that he wished he had ordered a double; the single was a little small for him.)

They serve 100% grass-fed Tallgrass Beef. For me, this means a Bill Kurtis association (and the man is one of my idols). For those of you who prefer grass-fed beef, this means you’re getting it in all of their hamburger, cheeseburger, and hot dog options.

Now, we are very lucky and haven’t had any need to pursue a gluten-free diet with our kids. But I know that’s something a lot of you are dealing with, and 2Toots strives to be gluten-friendly. They do offer Udi’s gluten-free buns as an option (for a small added price), and are constantly looking to offer local and organic products when they’re available.  I actually went to 2Toots armed with a list of questions from a friend who follows a gluten-free diet, but was so busy taking pictures and enjoying myself that I forgot to ask all of them! Luckily their waitstaff is very pleasant and accomodating (I’m the woman who asked our waitress to leave our food on the train for a few minutes so I could snap some pictures…), and I know they’d be more than willing to answer as many questions as you had to make sure your family is eating safely.

All in all we really enjoyed our experience at 2Toots – the fact that all the seating is on the tracks really sets this place apart, and the offering of gluten-free, organic, and grass-fed options ensures that 2Toots will be an experience that all members of your family can enjoy!  Click here for more info on hours and locations, and be sure to let me know if you give 2Toots a try!

2Toots provided a gift card so my family could have lunch and tell you about our experience – all opinions are my own!
